Week of September 14-18, 2015

"Drawing is the true test of art."                                                                                                                           -J.A.D. Ingres

On Monday of this week we will be critiquing the "Smashed Face Charcoal Portrait" drawings that the students have been working on for the past 2 weeks.

On Tuesday, we will begin a new drawing project that will focus on shading, form and texture using drawing pencils.  They will be looking at their object in the complete opposite way that they had made their portraits.  They will be focusing on shadow instead of highlight.  They will each receive a piece of rope that they will manipulate in their own individual way and then focus on creating form, texture and shadow for a very realistic composition.

DEADLINES:  1)  "Smashed Face Charcoal Portrait" drawing DUE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14th.

                               2)  Crumpled Paper sketchbook assignment DUE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th.
